James Stovold died from wounds on 18th April, 1915, but as yet there is no information as to where and on what date he was wounded. During the early months of 1915 the 2nd Essex battalion of 12 Brigade, 4th Division, had been holding the line around Ploegsteert in Belgium, close to the border with France. |
